When it comes to health, place matters. Where we live, including the physical and social environments that surround us, influences health in both positive and negative ways.
The UCSF Health Atlas is an interactive mapping website to explore neighborhood-level characteristics and see how they relate at a population level. Health Atlas was developed at the University of California, San Francisco and launched in 2020. Health Atlas expanded in 2024 to include data from all 50 states in the U.S., the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
